Kristen Stewart's arrival at the red-carpet premiere of her latest movie, with best pal Taylor Lautner at her side, created a frenzy for their die-hard fans.
The "American Ultra" premiere was an opportune time for the two celebrities to reunite. The last time Stewart and Lautner were seen socially was at a concert by Sam Smith in January, People reported.
Like in the "Twilight Saga" global opening events held a few years back, the 25-year-old actress made heads turn at the "American Ultra" premiere. This time, she was dressed in an eye-riveting sequined floral romper in dramatic black. Stewart showed that she is not one to conform to rules, and removed her Jimmy Choo pumps to walk barefoot on the red carpet, Huffington Post reported.
What fans took immense pleasure in was the evident bond between Stewart and Lautner. Stewart and Lautner, to this day, are closely associated by avid fans to their "Twilight" movie characters, Bella Swan and Jacob Black. Social media was abuzz with comments on how Kristen appeared cool and happy, and how Taylor still looked hot.
Kristen was able to lean on her "Twilight" co-star during one of the most trying moments that almost sabotaged her career, notably the cheating scandal affecting "Twilight" lead actor Robert Pattinson. Notwithstanding the passage of time, and the fact that all three "Twilight" stars have carved separate Hollywood paths, Stewart and Lautner's friendship has remained strong.
Apart from the "Twilight Saga" films, other similarities may have contributed to cementing Stewart and Lautner's close relationship. Both stars broke into show business at an early age, and initially landed roles on television shows. Both Lautner and Stewart have challenged themselves in the acting department and tackled a wide variety of roles falling under different genres.
After several "Twilight" installments, the two high-profile personalities became two of the highest paid actors/actresses in Hollywood. Today, Lautner and Stewart have kept a relatively low profile, which has simply whetted the appetite of fans for a film reunion.
