More original stories from the Naruto Universe as another novel will be released, the second novel focusing on Itachi Uchiha.
The first novel, "Itachi Shinden: Kōmyō-hen (The True Legend of Itachi: Glory Volume)" is due for release on September 4. The second novel, "Itachi Shinden: Anya-hen (The True Legend of Itachi: Dark Night Volume)" is scheduled for release on October 2.
Amazon recently released the synopsis for the second novel:
"Along with his sworn friend Shisui, Itachi undertakes an assassination mission to take out spies in order to join the Anbu. In addition, the rivalry between the Uchiha clan and the village becomes even more furious, and it finally causes the death of a friend. Having lost all hope in his clan and village, along with gaining a new eye and making a certain decision, Itachi walks into the night of tragedy. The kind yet cruel truth of the dream and hope he left to his brother... is revealed here."
The massacre of the Uchiha clan was a major turning point in the Naruto epic. It also shaped the destiny of Sasuke, Itachi's brother and the other main character in the series.
Details of the massacre were revealed by Obito, aka Tobi when he was still claiming to be Madara. However, the whole truth and Itachi's point of view was never fully revealed.
There could be revelations in the novel that may clear the name of Itachi, one of the most popular characters in the story despite being a villain, or more like anti-hero.
Some fans, like Reddit user dynrte still believe that Itachi was not alone in that gory act.
"Purely speculative, but I imagine Obito did most of the dirty work (though I could be proven wrong). Obito's ability (hax) is better for this type of thing, and Itachi had that emotional trauma to go through as well.
Though I could be wrong, because it is Itachi after all."
