After Fairy Tail 449, the nature of the Fairy Heart remains a mystery and the curse is still unclear.
Mavis was revealed to be immortal, and her curse was that her body would no longer age. But that may not be the only curse considering Zeref's ominous words-that Mavis did not know how precious life is.
What do these words have to do with the Fairy Heart and why Zeref is after it?
The only thing clear in Chapter 449 is that Mavis and Zeref are both cursed with immortality. What the chapter also took special notice of was that Yury was about to become a father.
Given that, user "Astonishing Spider Man" on Reddit formed this theory.
"The death of Yury caused by Mavis and he was her only victim of her curse." The implication is that the curse is either an urge to kill or unconsciously causing the death of people around her.
"At first she held the curse at bay due to being at constant war and with the guilt that had piled up she could not see life as something precious. But when she watched little Makarov grow up it managed to ease the burden on her shoulders. So the curse started to come out and when she tried to run Yury chased after her and was eventually killed due to it."
Apparently, Mavis is supposed to cause death, and without any guild wars, the only deaths that she could cause was to those around her-the people she loves.
"This is when she appointed Hades the Second Guild Master & sealed herself away."
The Fairy Heart was once called the Guild's darkness but Mavis stated that the FH was actually the Guild's light. Is the Fairy Heart being used by Mavis to keep the curse under control? Is this also the reason why Zeref wants the Fairy Heart for himself-because he is also cursed?
