Philips recently announced the latest update to its line of Hue white bulbs. The company will add the new Philips Hue white bulb and Philips Hue Wireless Dimming Kit.
According to Mac Rumors, the new Philips Hue Wireless Dimming Kit includes one Philips Hue white bulb along with a dimming switch operated by a portable battery. With the dimmer kit, users have the option to change the brightness of up to 10 Philips Hue white bulbs all at the same time. The dimmer kit can also control white bulbs even if they are already installed on the user's home network.
Philips boasts that the new dimmer kit fixes the common problem posed by traditional dimming solutions which is bulb flickering or buzzing. The ability to control up to 10 bulbs at once means that users can control the lighting of an entire room using a single switch.
Commenting about other wireless dimming kits on the market, Philips Hue product marketing director Leonardo Avezzano told PC Mag, "Not only does the kit show how simple it is to have clever products in your home, but like all Philips Hue products it is entirely future-proof. With the kit, anyone is able to begin enjoying the simplicity of modern dimming."
The wireless Philips Hue dimming kit will be released in September and is reported to fetch a price tag of $45.65. Individual Philips Hue white bulbs will be released on the market for $22.79. The dimming kit and the white bulb will be released first in the North American market and the European market will closely follow.
