The creators of "Legends of Tomorrow" recently cast Hawkman and his predestined love interest, Kenda Saunders as regulars on The CW series.
In an interview with Newsarama, executive producer Phil Klemmer revealed that Hawkman will not overshadow Hawkgirl (Ciara Renee) on the show.
"It doesn't, because the way we've imagined them is that they've obviously been reincarnated through the ages together, but the fact that he remembers their previous lives and she doesn't... it gives them very much like Bogie & Bacall sort of relationship," he said.
Meanwhile, Klemmer also confirmed that Hawkman and Hawkgirl will continue to fight against each other. However, in the end, love between the two will ultimately prevail, according to Comic Book.
Klemmer added that it is a very important concept between the two characters to think about their possible relationship in the future. According to the exec, this brings about a certain level of sentimentality on the show.
However, Klemmer said that the affair of both characters will be very minimal throughout the entire season. He added that there will be more sex scenes on "Legends of Tomorrow" than actual romance.
In the comic books, Hawkman and Hawkgirl have a very complicated relationship with each other. Their past lives, predestined partners and other issues will continue to plague the characters in the upcoming first season of the series. Klemmer said that The CW show will remain true to the original story of both characters.
"Legends of Tomorrow" will premiere on The CW sometime next year.
