Fans of "The Vampire Diaries" hoped to see a sweet moment between co-stars Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev at the 2015 Teen Choice Awardds. However, Somerhalder did not attend the event and there are rumors that this had something to do with his wife, Nikki Reed.
According to Celeb Dirty Laundry, Reed prevented Somerhalder from attending the event, in which Dobrev received a major award from fans. Dobrev did not only win the Choice TV Actress award, she also won the Liplock award with Somerhalder.
Unlike last year, Dobrev did not share a sweet kiss with Somerhalder because the latter was not present during the awarding ceremony. Fans of the co-stars and "The Vampire Diaries" are reportedly lashing out at Reed for breaking the tradition.
Meanwhile, Dobrev gave a touching speech for her Choice TV Actress award, but did not mention anything about the Liplock recognition, according to Movie Pilot.
"Remember, change is coming, so hold on and enjoy the ride, all right? It's going to be fun," she said.
In other news, Dobrev will no longer reprise her role as Elena Gilbert on "The Vampire Diaries" because she already resigned from the show. Although she did not divulge details on why she decided to do so, there are speculations that it had something to do with Somerhalder and Reed.
After their split in 2013, Somerhalder dated the "Twilight" star, who was previously married to "American Idol" contestant Paul McDonald. Months later, Reed and Somerhalder tied the knot.
"The Vampire Diaries" season 8 will premiere on The CW on Oct. 8.
