The fans of "The Vampire Diaries" will see how the relationship between Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Caroline (Candice Accola) continue to develop in the upcoming new season. Executive producer Caroline Dries teases what will happen to Mystic Falls' new couple in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 7.
In an interview with TVGuide, Caroline Dries teased that the chaos surrounding Caroline in the brand new season will not stop the blonde vampire from getting butterflies every time she looks at Stefan. Dries revealed that the fans will definitely see Stefan and Caroline get together in the upcoming new season.
Dries further revealed that the Stefan-Caroline relationship will come in stages and encounter some starts and stops but the CW TV series will still explore on every stage of the "Steroline" relationship. In an interview with BuddyTV at the 2015 San Diego Comic-Con, TVD cast member Paul Wesley admitted that he is ready with the show's shift in dynamic after co-star Nina Dobrev's exit in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 6 finale.
Wesley teased that Caroline will be able to sort out her life pretty quickly following the painful experience of losing her mom, Sheriff Forbes (Marguerite MacIntyre) in the previous season. As a result, Wesley thinks Caroline has given Stefan the go signal to their romantic relationship.
Aside from the "Steroline" relationship, Stefan Salvatore will also deal with the return of his mother, Lily Salvatore (Annie Wersching) and the arrival of the new season's big bad villains called the Heretics. Wesley teased that no one will get along with Lily's vampire-witch "family."
Wesley further added that Lily may possibly get between Stefan and his older brother Damon (Ian Somerhalder). The Salvatore brothers found out that their mother did not really die but was only locked up in a prison world of the Gemini coven because of her "Ripper" nature.
Wesley teased that Stefan and Damon will react differently to Lily's return to present-day Mystic Falls as well as their mother's connection to the Heretics. Stefan will be the one who forgives easily while Damon will be skeptical and wary.
"The Vampire Diaries" Season 7 will premiere on Thursday night, Oct. 8, at 8/7c on the CW Network.
