"The Flash" season 2 will feature Iris West as the new head of S.T.A.R. Labs.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Andrew Kreisberg revealed that Iris will be taking on the role and she would be a natural at it.
One of the reasons why Iris is fit for the job is the fact that she is a natural born leader.
Meanwhile, Kreisberg also talked about the upcoming premiere episode of "The Flash" season 2. According to him, one of the most important storylines in the said episode has to do with Barry Allen deciding that he wants to work alone for fear that he would risk someone else's life again in the future.
With this, Iris will step up and she will be the one to help bring back the entire team together.
"She's the only one who can stand up to Barry," Kreisberg said.
In other news, Iris will become unstoppable in season 2 despite the fact that Eddie just passed away. In fact, she will be using the death of her fiancé as a motivation to excel and do good things.
During an interview with Collider, executive producer Gabrielle Stanton said, "She's going to come into her own a little bit, this year. All this stuff has happened and she's gotta figure out what she's gonna do about it. Hers is going to be a journey of, 'I'm going to become the woman I want to be. I'm not going to be as reactive as maybe I was, in the past,'" he said.
"The Flash" season 2 will premiere on The CW in October.
