"Grey's Anatomy" season 12 star Jason George recently weighed in on Patrick Dempsey's exit from the hit ABC series.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, George revealed that he and the entire cast and crew of "Grey's Anatomy" miss Dempsey and his character Derek Shepherd.
The actor also joked that what he misses most about Dempsey is his car. The latter is known for his passion for racing.
Meanwhile, George, who plays the role of Dr. Ben Warren, also teased the upcoming 12th season of the ABC series.
According to him, season 12 feels very new and fresh because the writers are trying their best to make the storylines more interesting now that Dempsey's Derek is no longer part of the show.
Talking about the other characters on "Grey's Anatomy," George told People that the creators, writers and execs will be bringing sexy back on.
"There are a lot of people who are not in couples now and are falling into bed. Everyone's getting a little bit of loving," he said.
In other news, George was recently promoted to series regular for season 12. He will continue to play the role of Dr. Bailey's husband.
Upon learning his new status on the show, fans immediately speculated that George was made into a series regular to serve as one of Dempsey's replacements.
The same rumor surrounding Martin Henderson's inclusion into the series. However, series creator Shonda Rhimes said that none of the old cast members and the newcomers will act as Dempsey's replacement.
"Grey's Anatomy" season 12 will premiere on ABC this September.
