"The Last Ship" Season 2 airs its explosive finale on Sept. 6, 2015. Episode 13 is titled "A More Perfect Union" and is expected to be heavy on action. The final segment of this instalment will see Chandler and Dr. Scott get really close to accomplishing their mission of spreading the cure. However, their biggest challenge yet awaits them. The cure is ready and Chandler and Nathan James crew is preparing to make the medicine available to the civilians and stop the pandemic from wiping out the human population. Meanwhile, the crew must defeat mankind's biggest foe, Immunes.
According to Cartermatt's description of "The Last Ship" Season 2 Episode 13, Nathan James' crew members send out a message to the civilians about the distribution of the medicine. The crew asks the people to gather at pre-selected ports to receive the vaccine that could save the lives.
But what they don't know is that a small faction of Immunes is waiting to attack them and prevent the distribution of the cure and help Ramsey achieve his goal.
"The Last Ship" Season 2 Finale will see Chandler and his crew put up one last fight to stop Immunes. Meanwhile, they make efforts to win the trust of the citizens of America and people across the globe.

According to Variety, "The Last Ship" has been renewed for Season 3. The finale will end with a "gripping cliffhanger" building the basis for the next season's storyline.
