The upcoming episode sees Chandler putting everything on line to support Dr. Rachel's Scott's research as she gets close to uncovering the cure of the epidemic. According to Cartermatt's description of "The Last Ship" Season 2 Episode 9, the doctor is very close to completing the formula that could save the mankind.
Chandler and his crew enter a territory in search of supplies and materials for the laboratory. But they are unaware of dangers that lie ahead of them. During their hunt for the material, Burk comes face to face with a group of children, who have been recruited as bounty hunters by the immunes. These children are deployed at the location to bring any information about the U.S. Navy to the Immunes.
Chandler and his team manage to captivate the group that leads to a battle between Immunes and Chandler's team.
On board Nathan James, Rachel is struggling to complete the formula. However, the results of her hard work depend entirely on someone who almost led to the end of world. While she looks for the successful spreadable cure, the doctor is forced to deal with Neils.
