LG G4 Pro release on Oct. 1

LG has indicated that its second flagship phone for 2015 will touchdown anytime in the fourth quarter of the year and according to a new report that event may just happen on October 10. The jumbo LG G4 Note is likely to be unveiled as early as next month.

Korean media reports, according to G4Games, are saying that LG will stage an event on October and likely taking center stage is the rumored G4 Note - also earlier described as the super premium LG G4 Pro. However, the super premium label seems out of the equation now but the upcoming device appears to remain a flagship phone, inside and out.

The new report suggests that the G4 Note will mostly carry on with the LG G4 build and design features, meaning the earlier rumored metal frame is no longer party of the deal. Instead, the device outer make will be a mixture of plastic, glass and some touch metal edging.

While LG ditched both the metal build and super premium attributions earlier rumored for the G4 Note, the company decided to retain one feature that likely will make many Android fans happy. The second LG 2015 flagship will feature a removable back plate that for users mean is easy access to the device battery.

G4Games said that the G4 Note is luring in power users with its removable battery, which Samsung dumped with both the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy Note 5. It was unclear, however, if the LG G4 Note will have a memory card slot for storage expansion, which the S6 and Note 5 also lack.

But really the headline feature of the LG G4 Note is the high-end camera. The device's shooting system is "presumably a much more powerful camera which could arrive in a dual-unit configuration for improved depth perception," the report said. It is highly likely that the G4 Note is the first smartphone to boast of a DSLR-class camera module, which was first rumored as among the killer features to unbox with the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus.

So mark October 10 as the LG G4 Note big day and the device's release date will likely trigger an epic battle of supersized smartphones as the G4 Note will have to slug it out with Apple's iPhone 6S Plus, Samsung's Galaxy Note 5 and Google's Huawei Nexus 6.
