"The Mindy Project" star Mindy Kaling recently opened up about her new book, Why Not Me?"
In an interview with E! News, the 38-year-old funnywoman also spoke about "actively planning" to have kids.
"I think I've decided that unlike everything else in my life, I'm going to be fast and loose about kids. I'm going to not actively plan, but if it happens, it would happen," she said.
Meanwhile, Kaling also said that she is now less into the idea of getting married and settling down.
The actress revealed that at a young age, she wanted to get married and fantasized about the most beautiful wedding possible. However, these days, she does not think about it that much anymore.
In other news, Kaling spoke with New York Times about her second book, "Why Not Me?," which will be released in the United States on Sept. 15.
The actress revealed that she is the type of person who loves to read anything and everything. This has probably helped inspire her to become a writer and have her own book published.
"I visited India when I was 11, and my cousins turned me on to Enid Blyton. I loved reading about English boarding schools, like in the 'Malory Towers' series, which was actually written for children much younger than me," she said.
"The Mindy Project" was recently axed by FOX, but the series was picked up by Hulu for season 4.
Kaling also has another book entitled "Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me?"
