"The Mindy Project" has officially been cancelled by Fox after just three seasons. However, it seems that fans of Mindy Kaling and Chris Messina still have the chance to watch the onscreen couple after Hulu confirmed its plan to pick up the hit sitcom.
During last season's finale episode, Danny Castellano (Messina) arrived at Mindy's parents' doorstep to confess his love for their daughter.
Around the same time, Danny and Mindy have already been contemplating about settling down, especially since it was revealed that Mindy is pregnant with their first child.
Fans of "The Mindy Project" were expecting to see what could happen to Danny and Mindy's relationship but were surprised to know that the cliffhanger might no longer be addressed.
Luckily, Fox recently made a deal with Hulu and the network reportedly sold all the rights for a multi-season renewal, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Meanwhile, Kaling recently spoke to E! News to talk about the future of the show. The actress also revealed how happy she is as to how "The Mindy Project" turned out the past couple of years.
"I'm so proud of the show. There's nothing really that I would do differently in the way that we've built the show in the last couple of years, and I love our relationship with Fox and I would love for it to just continue," she said.
As of late, there are no reports yet as to whether or not "The Mindy Project" will kick off from the events that transpired during last season's finale episode.
"The Mindy Project" also stars Ike Barinholtz, Ed Weeks, Amanda Setton, Beth Grant and Xosha Roquemore.
