Most publishers in 2015 are either about re-mastering titles or postponing planned ones to 2016. Nintendo has joined the list by confirming that they won't be releasing "Legend of Zelda" this holiday season as planned.
The Wii U console has been lacking some good titles because third party developers have already stopped making games for it and it is up to Nintendo to keep gamers busy. "Mario Kart 8" and "Super Smash Bros" helped the company spring back to action and Zelda was supposed to have sealed the deal.
However, it is the first game in the series that is set in a completely open world. Sharing the news about the confirmed delay, Eiji Aonuma said, "The developers are experiencing a freedom like never before in the Zelda series. They have discovered several new things to implement and in order to do so, they need more time which is why we have to postpone it to 2016."
Originally, more details about the game including a gameplay reveal was expected at E3 2105 which has also been cancelled. Other game titles that are panned to be out on Nintendo Wii U this year include Star Fox, Mario Maker and Xenoblade Chronicles X among a few others, adds Wired.
The developers haven't made any announcement regarding these planned titles which confirms that they are not being postponed. This is the second anticipated exclusive to be pushed to next year as earlier Sony announced that Playstation 4 title "Uncharted 4 - A Thief's End" is being postponed for similar reasons.
Nintendo have always made announcements of great titles just months before they bring them to the audience. Based on this trend, players can surely expect some announcements at E3 this year to compensate for Zelda, reports Engadget.
