The next flagship smartphone from the Chinese phone manufacturer Xiaomi, the Xiaomi Mi 5, is expected to hit the market on Sept. 24. The Smartphone's leaked images reveal its anticipated fingerprint scanner, a metal frame with two loudspeaker cutouts, and curved glass back features.
Images of the next generation Xiaomi Mi 5 were posted on Weibo by @KJuma revealing the back side of the device. The photos indicate that the iteration gadget sports a metal frame with two loudspeaker cutouts, Phone Arena reported.
According to Tech Times, the rear cover of Xiaomi Mi5 that is interestingly curved mirrors the glass back seen on the Samsung Galaxy Note 5. Furthermore, it was noted that the device has a fingerprint scanner.
The upcoming Xiaomi Mi5 will reportedly be slightly bigger than the current Mi 4. The new device will feature a 5.3-inch display with 1440 × 2560 pixel resolution and MIUI 6.0, which is contrary to the Mi 4 that sports a 5.0-inch screen display with 1080 × 1920 resolution and MIUI 5.0.
Furthermore, the upcoming iteration of Xiaomi Mi 5 will run on the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor with Quad-core 2.2 GHz and Quad-core 1.8 GHz. The processor is expected to improve performance and curb heating issues of the new smartphone.
Xiaomi Mi 5 is anticipated to come with a 16-megapixel rear camera and an enormous 13MP front camera. The gadget will also run on Android Lollipop 5.1 Operating System with the company's own MIUI. The next generation is expected to ship with a 3000mAh battery for more power supply.
Rumors indicate that the Xiaomi Mi5 will come along with a price tag of approximately $386.
