"Street Fighter V" developer Capcom has promised that Necalli will not be the only new fighter to come to the franchise with this year's SF title. The newest fighter is Rashid, who was first announced back during the Games15 in Dubai.
As seen in his characterization, Rashid is a Middle Eastern fighter whose capabilities goes beyond mere fighting. He makes use of the wind, but also a fighting style and attitude that is easygoing and laidback, Capcom revealed via its official blog.
Rashid's moves are also inspired by parkour. In addition, it has a sense of unpredictability that would catch fighters off-guard if they don't look closely enough. Rashid's first V-Skill is the front flip, where he will do a divekick on the enemy. Rolling Assault, which is the V-Skill 2, sees him delivering a front roll that ends with a kick to the enemy's upper body even when he starts his stance from a distance.
The new fighter's V-Trigger is the Ysaar, where Rashid creates a whirlwind that will damage the enemy upon contact. Rashid can use the whirlwind with no problems, and even strengthen his attacks.
When Capcom revealed Rashid as a new character, "Street Fighter V" producer Yoshinori Ono revealed that the team took measures to enhance the experience and playability of the character. Rashid's appearance and physicality aside, the character were based on research and close cooperation with Middle Eastern distributor Pluto Games to achieve an authentic character, IGN Middle East reported.
This was not the only announcement that Ono and Capcom had for its Middle Eastern fans. The developer had also confirmed that "Street Fighter V" will have localized support for the Arabic language. This means that all of the in-game text will be localized for fans' enjoyment.
The video below shows off Rashid facing off against Ryu. "Street Fighter V" will release as a console exclusive on the PS4 come 2016.
