"Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" could be the most violent in COD history after receiving a high R18+ rating in Australia.
The official website of the Australian Classification Board has now rated "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" the highest of R18+. The rating is significant since all other prior "Call of Duty" games were only rated as MA15+ over in Australia.
According to the consumer advice, the game has "high impact violence, online interactivity." It has strong effect subject matter in addition to the high effect violence. Similarly, the game has moderate impact of language and sex, just mild references to drug use, and no nudity.
While the series is known to have gore, it is fascinating to see the new game with high impact violence. There are high chances that the game will also get an R18+ rating in New Zealand.
It is plausible that currently Australia has the R18+ rating. Prior to 2013, anything beyond the MA15+ rating would have caused a ban on the game or a heavy censor. Previously, games such as the "Mortal Kombat" were not allowed in Australia.
It is the first time the yearly shooter series has attained a rating above MA15+, which is a much more holiday gift-friendly classification.
However, there is no much information for caregivers to look for when children ask about one of the best titles of the year, VG247 noted.
"Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" can launch on PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Xbox One on Nov. 6. It seems ESRB and PEGI are yet to return classification.
