When "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" was announced, a number of fans cheered when they learned that the title will not leave behind fans that are still playing on old-gen consoles. However, as more details were revealed, fans realized that there is an advantage to playing the game on newer consoles PS4 and Xbox One, as well as the PC.
The latest information announced by Treyarch confirmed that cross-generation transfer saves will not be possible for "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3." Treyarch's David Vonderhaar confirmed this via Twitter with a firm "No," Charlie Intel reported.
This is a big change from what was allowed with last year's "Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare," which introduced the feature later on after the game was launched. One potential reason for this may be the fact that amount of detail and computations that the game will require can only be executed by the hardware power of the next-gen consoles. Adding to that, there are a number of features, such as the two-player campaign mode, that are only available on the next-gen platforms.
Also just recently, Treyarch has officially confirmed that Nuk3town is coming back with "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3." This follows the latest leak, wherein the Nuk3town map was first leaked by a retailer ahead of any announcements from the developer.
However, this time, the reveal of the map is official for Treyarch's latest title, PC Mag reported. The multiplayer map will be available as a preorder freebie. The map can be obtained via a download code that is included in-box together with the game. The multiplayer map is specific to the PS4, Xbox One and PC platforms.
"The Nuketown maps have a special place in 'Call of Duty' multiplayer history and we can't wait to build upon that heritage in 'Black Ops III,'" said Treyarch's Mark Lamia in a statement quoted by the source.
"Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" is set for release on Nov. 6. Both next-gen and old-gen consoles, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PS3, as well as the PC will get the game.
