"Kingdom Hearts 3" will have new game features such as multiplayer gameplay and new worlds from Pixar along wirh a new prequel game for the series.
Square Enix was present during the Tokyo Game Show event as they showcased "Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8" for the PlayStation 4 console along with its official teaser trailer, AnimeNewsNetwork reported.
The "Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8" is a compilation game similar to "Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD remix" and "Kingdom Hearts 2.5 remix", but with a different twist as two "Kingdom Hearts" titles are present in the game and a HD theatre video. The new compilation game will act as a prequel game for "Kingdom Hearts 3", which is similar as to how Konami used "Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zero" as a prequel episode for "The Phantom Pain" game.
The two games that are mentioned in the new prequel title are "Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance HD" which is an updated version of the Nintendo DS game and "Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth By Sleep - a fragmentary passage -", a new episodic chapter tied to the the PlayStation Portable game. The new chapter will likely explore Aqua's fate in the Realm of Darkness after the events of "Birth By Sleep".
"Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8" will also feature a HD theatre video called "Kingdom Hearts X: Back Cover", which recounts past adventures of Sora and the gang within the game series. Square Enix will release the game sometime in 2016 for PS4 console.
In other news, "Kingdom Hearts 3" will likely have a multiplayer gameplay features and new Disney worlds based on the Pixar characters. The information was first leaked by a developer in his LinkedIn page were he is working on plans for "Kingdom Hearts 3" and "Kingdom Hearts 2.9", The Christian Today reported.
Square Enix stated that they will announce more details for "Kingdom Hearts 3" at D23 Expo in Japan on Nov. 6-7 as they already revealed three worlds in the game such as "Tangled", "Hercules" and "Big Hero 6".
The Japanese game developer added that more worlds will be revealed soon in the game as possible contenders like "Frozen", "Wreck-It Ralph", "Brave" etc. are being pushed by gaming fans.
Game director Tetsuya Nomura stated that they have finished the ground work in "Kingdom Hearts 3" and are now focused on the new features, mini-games and many more for the game.
