iPad Air 3 release date was reportedly delayed in purpose in spring next year with greater features than the recently released iPad Pro.
Tech giant Apple tagged iPad Pro as its most powerful tablet yet, but it may have plans to release a more powerful device in early 2016. Previous rumors claimed that the third generation of iPad Air will be released next month.
iPad Air 3 features reportedly include a stunning 4K screen display and an IP rating making it resistant to dust and water. According to Tech News Today, iPad Air 3 will pack a 9.7 inch screen panel with 4096 x 2160 pixels. The screen will also have 401 ppi and 4:3 aspect ratio. The tablet is also water and dust resistant allowing it to repel dust and moisture that may break the tablet.
Other rumored iPad Air 3 features are: A9X processor, iOS 9, 16GB, 64GB, and 128GB variants, and 8 MP iSight camera at the back and 2.1 MP front-facing camera.
Rumors of Apple dropping iPad Air 3 started when Taiwanese media source Economic Daily News citing Fubon Bank analyst Liaoxian Yi, Apple decided to delay the iPad Air 3 release in 2016 to give way to the rumored iPad Pro, which is the Apple's entry in the laplet market.
Apple boasts iPad Pro as its most powerful iPad yet. It is paired with iPad Mini 4 as an alternative for buyers who want a tablet with smaller screen. Apple thinks that iPad Air 3 will cannibalize the sales of the new iPad Pro since the two tablets are closer in size. Moreover, there could be problems in terms of supply if suppliers are working on three tablets.
However, there is no official announcement from Apple about iPad Air 3 yet.
