"Deadpool" co-creator Rob Liefeld revealed at the Amazing Hawaii Comic-Con that Colossus' participation is bigger in the movie. Even though many people had dismissed his appearance as only a cameo, Liefeld refuted it saying that he's not just eye candy.
According to Cinema Blend, years ago Rhet Reese wrote a screenplay of Deadpool with Colossus being his antithesis Colossus is your boyscout type of character who always obeys rules in contrast to Deadpool's deliquency. This meant that he was supposed to play a big role but no one saw that on the big screen.
Fast forward to today, Liefeld revealed that the organic steel-skinned mutant will have substantial exposure in the film.
He also told his audience that Colossus has never looked as good in the previous X-Men movies as he does in the "Deadpool" movie.
Former Colossus actor Daniel Cudmore appeared in three consecutive X-Men movies in "X2: X-Men United," "X-Men: The Last Stand," and "X-Men: Days of Future Past" but wasn't cast for the role in Deadpool's solo movie. While he has the size to be able to play the character for as long as he wants, 20th Century Fox went in another direction.
As Cudmore confirmed back in February and reported by Screen Rant, someone else would be playing Colossus. Apparently, actor Andre Tricoteux would provide motion capture for the character instead.
