Tim Miller's upcoming Marvel Comics film "Deadpool" will be setting up a pivotal character, in addition to the Merc with the Mouth.
In his talk at the Amazing Hawai Comic-Con, Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld said that fans would be seeing the mutant Colossus in Miller's film and they would love the character, as the gigantic mutant would not just have a cameo in the much anticipated Marvel film. at the San Diego Comic-Con, fans have also seen Colossus in the "Deadpool" trailer, which indicates that the mutant will factor in in Miller's film.
According to Cinema Blend, while Colossus shares the big screen with Deadpool on its release, fans should not assume any exact film adaptation of the comic book storyline because the characters do not have a diverse background that will serve as source material for the film. In addition, with Deadpool's cinematic adaptation getting the traits of its comic book version, Colossus' aesthetic appearance is also kept.
"Seventh Son" actor Andre Tricoteux will play Colossus in Miller's "Deadpool." Created by Len Wein and Dave Cockrum, Colossus initially appeared in "Giant-Size X-Men #1" in May 1975. The character was played by "The Twilight Saga: New Moon" actor Daniel Cudmore in Bryan Singer's "X-Men 2," Brett Ratner's "X-Men: The Last Stand," and Singer's "X-Men: Days of Future Past."
"Deadpool" features Wilson's origin story, as a former member of the Special Forces who became a subject in an experiment to become a superhero. Ryan Reynolds will play Deadpool, also known as the Merc with the Mouth. The film also stars Morena Baccarin, Gina Carano, Brianna Hildebrand, Ed Skrein, and T.J. Miller, among others.
Miller's "Deadpool" is set to premiere in theaters in the United States on Feb. 12, 2016 while the release date for "Deadpool 2" is yet to be revealed. Watch the red band trailer here:
