British sports car manufacturer Briggs Automotive Company (BAC) recently announced its plans to release a new iteration of the BAC Mono. The new model called BAC Mono Marine Edition is specially modified to able to fit aboard a luxury yachts.
According to Auto Car, the BAC Mono Marine Edition is modified to be stored on a luxury yacht rather than on land. On top of this, additional modification include a specialized anti-corrosion coating agent in order to protect the car from salty climates. The car's chassis is also designed with lifting points ideal for yacht cranes.
The BAC Mono Marine Edition boasts a four cylinder Mountune 2.5-liter engine. The engine has a power output of 305bhp and its torque is rated at 227 pounds per foot. The car is capable of accelerating from zero to 62mph in just 2.8 seconds. The car weighs 540kg and has a recorded top speed of 170mph.
BAC director of strategy and corporate development Andrew Whitney posted a statement, "Today's super-yachts are paragons of exquisite taste, exceptional design, and the ultimate experience possible. It is only fitting that owners should be able to extend that experience beyond the vessel upon arrival."
The BAC Mono Marine Edition is built with a crane arm. The arm is made of carbon fiber in order make sure that the part is sturdy while at the same time light enough not to affect the car's speed.
The BAC Mono Marine Edition will pick a hefty price tag of $775,205, according to World Car Fans.
