New details for "The Last of Us 2" have been revealed regarding new characters and rumored prototype of the sequel already in the works.
Naughty Dog developers Josh Scherr revealed that "The Last Of Us 2" will be in the works during a livestream panel for "Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection," along with his co-workers Eric Monacelli and Eric Baldwin. Although Scherr did not exactly say "The Last Of Us 2," but he kept on saying the first game several times, hinting that there is more to it or just a mistake in his part.
However, game director Neil Druckman stated that "The Last Of Us 2" is indeed in the works, confirming what voice actor Nolan North said back in June. Druckman revealed that a prototype for "The Last of Us 2" has already been made before "Uncharted 4's" development along with several titles under Naughty Dog, VG 24/7 reported.
Druckman added that he did not anticipate that North will actually announce "The Last of Us 2" prematurely, but laughs it off in the end. It is also not a surprise for him that a sequel could be in the works, as he and the rest of Naughty Dog have brainstorming ideas on how they can make "The Last of Us 2" better than the previous title.
Naughty Dog will also look forward into adding new characters for "The Last of Us 2," and add new ideas for Joel and Ellie's story in the sequel by using different prototypes and gather more data from them to come up with different ideas, concepts, suggestions and even new game features, Gamerant reported
For now, Naughty Dog is currently working on "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End," which put "The Last of Us 2" on hold until the game is finished and game company is trying to buy the rights of the "Half-Life" game license from Valve.
