China's Ministry of Education said reforms on the national entrance examination and enrollment method have been completed and will soon be open to the public for their opinion.

One reform measure, "English to be tested for several times in one year", attracted people's attention. The ministry explained that English test will not be included in the National Entrance Examination for Colleges and Universities. Students can choose test dates and times independently, giving them more choices.

According to "2013-2017 Analysis Report on Future-oriented Market Observation and Investment Opportunities in China's Education Industry", the reform measure of excluding English test from the national entrance examination results from various requirements such as students' all-round and personal development, diversified education models, and exploration of characteristic education. The reform will help change the single selection and enrollment method, evaluation criteria and "score-oriented" model in the education system.

It is learned that the reform will not affect students who enter the National Entrance Examination for Colleges and Universities within the  next three years. The reform is currently in the pilot phase and is set to be officially implemented in 2017.
