Mr. Xi who live in Xiangshan village has called emergency number "110" for over 400 times, not because he really has an emergency but because he "wasn't feeing good."
On Dec 12, 2013, Xiangshan police station received a phone call from Mr. Xi. "Hi, I think I'm going to murder someone, you better come and arrest me before I do something terrible."
Over the past few months, the same voice has called in saying similar things for countless times. The operator went with standard report procedure, asking the person's name, address and call back number. But of course, the person hung up.
This was not the end of the story. Over the next few hours, the phone never stopped ringing. All calls were from the same number, called in by the same voice. The man was reporting for all kinds of emergencies - fire alarm, car accidents and back to intention of committing murder. The number of calls Xiangshan police have received from the same person was interrupting the daily operation of the station that the police decided to find the man to stop his misbehaviors.
"Don't worry. We will come and help you. Please give us your address and we will be there soon." The operator "talked" to the person on the phone and finally got his actual address.
Around 7pm, the police arrived the man's house. The man's name is Xi, about 40 years old, divorced.
The police later found out that this was not the first time Xi harassed the police. Back in 2012, Xi started calling the police many times a day till early 2013. Xi had to stop for six months because he moved to another city for work. Right after he returned in July 2013, he "picked up" his old "hobby".
It took the police a while to figure out Xi's "crime pattern." He called in simply based on randomness. He would sometimes call ten times on the same day, or sometimes no phone calls at all for a few days.
So why would he keep calling the police? Is he really a lunatic?
"I just wasn't feeling good. I was depressed or somehow irritated. Calling the police makes me feel better." Xi said. But what was he upset with? He wouldn't tell people about that.
