Sprint has announced a new offer for its iPhone Forever program, allowing lets new or existing consumers to get new 16GB version of the iPhone 6s for $1 monthly and the iPhone 6s Plus for $5 per month, with the trade-in of an iPhone 6.
The telecommunications giant said that the new offer is a "limited time" deal for those consumers visiting Sprint's retail locations. There is announcement as to when the limited offer will end. Sprint’s new offer is a way of surpassing rival T-Mobile, which unveiled new program on Wednesday to attract more customers to buy the new iPhone 6s or iPhone 6S Plus.
Sprint's $1-per-month and the $5-per-month deals apply only if the customers will trade in an iPhone 6 or iPhone 6S Plus. Example is trading iPhone 5S will increase the price for $10 a month for a 16GB iPhone 6s and $14 a month for the 16GB iPhone 6s Plus.
Consumers who opt for Sprint until Dec. 31 from another carrier or existing Sprint subscribers will be able to get a promotional rate of $15 per month on a 16GB iPhone 6s, which is usually $22 monthly without a trade-in, CNET reported.
Other Sprint plans under iPhone Forever program include $5.77 per month for the 64GB iPhone 6S and $10.53 a month for the 128GB version if you trade in iPhone 6. In addition, consumers who opt for iPhone 6S Plus need to pay $9.77 per month for the 64GB edition, and $14.53 a month for the 128GB version.
Meanwhile, Jump On Demand Leasing program of T-Mobile requires consumers to pay $5 a month for a 16GB iPhone 6S or $9 a month for a 16GB iPhone 6S Plus in exchange for trading in an iPhone 6 or 6 Plus, according to Mac Rumors.
Sprint and T-Mobile have been competing via one promotion after another, currently using the advantage of the debut of Apple's latest iPhones.
