After reports that Paul George is "not thrilled" with his new role on the Pacers, NBA trade rumors about him erupted.
For fans of the Philadelphia 76ers, this may be the moment they have been waiting for. George is coming back from an injury and pushing him to play off-position may not be advisable. PG13 is also not thrilled that David West and Roy Hibbert are gone.
The rift between Hibbert and George was apparently untrue, or at the very least, over and done with, as proven by Hibbert's statements in this LA Times interview.
Which simply means that George would have enough beef in case the experiment does not work out. Of course, it would still be a stretch for the Pacers to trade their best player, but it could be similar to the Carmelo Anthony situation in Denver.
Enter the Philadelphia 76ers. Fans over at Liberty Ballers actually called it the "inevitable Paul George trade."
It turns out that the fans have been discussing a Paul George trade for almost a year now. It's hard to blame the fans as they're anxious to gain some footing after their team has been tanking the past three seasons.
In case of a Paul George trade demand, the roles of the Sixers and the Pacers may be reversed: Philadelphia may be a step closer to contention and Indiana may have to rebuild.
Of course, Bird would want the best package, and that could be centered on one of either Nerlens Noel or Jahlil Okafor (since the Pacers need bigs), possibly Dario Saric and a package of picks.
Sixers fans were wary of trading the Lakers top three protected pick, which has a big possibility of ending up at the lottery next year.
The featured Twitter thread had the prediction of George getting traded on December 16 after the moratorium on newly-signed free agents are lifted. The shaky consensus is Noel plus draft picks and possibly adding Nick Stauskas.
However, the Sixers would need to see how George fares after the gruesome injury. Let's see if this prediction actually takes place.
