An industrial gas leak at the Hua Bin Yang Ran Hua Limited Liability Company in Shan Dong has killed four people and injured three others.
The incident happened late night on Jan. 1st when poisonous gas leaked out of the company's containers, instantly injuring and killing bystanders. Initial reports say the gas that leaked out due to a faulty flange contained Naphtha. The company is situated in the Yang Xing County Economic Developmental Zone.
The Yang Xing County government responded with emergency measures, with Bin Zhou City and Yang Xin County responders directing the emergency action.The local environmental department also arrived on the scene to inspect the damage, but has yet to come out with its findings on the exact cause of the mishap.
The industrial gas leak came on the heels of a natural gas explosion in Sichuan in the last week of December and the Nov. 22 explosion in Qingdao, both of which claimed human lives and caused environmental damage.
