Xiaomi Mi 5 may launch as soon as December if all goes well. This is according to reports given by an industrial expert who was commnicating about the launch of the phone. According to him, the expected unveiling of the phone is only delayed by the delivery of the Xiaomi's processor, which is still awaited.
In relation to statement given by Pan Jiutang, an industrial analyst, the launch of Xiaomi Mi 5 is entirely dependent on delivery of its powerhouse; the Snapdragon 820.
Jiutang had earlier this year predicted that Xiaomi's processor, the Snapdragon 820 would be availed by smartphone's manufacturers by December this year. Based on this date, analysts prospected that handsets like the Xiaomi which would feature the chipset would only be available in March next year, Phone Arena reported.
However, new reports say that Xiaomi Mi 5 release date is expected to be December. It will yet be hinged on how soon Qualcomm will deliver the Snapdragon 820. The Xiaomi Mi 5 will replace the Xiaomi Mi 4 that formerly debuted in August 2014.
Mi 5 is expected to be one of the first smartphones to include a Snapdragon 820, International Business Times reported. The chip, as confirmed by reports, is going to be more powerful than its previous predecessor; the Snapdragon 810. It is also going to overcome the overheating problems that its previous counterpart had, giving the phone a better performance.
Apart from this, Xiaomi Mi 5 will run using its own version of android referred to as MIUI and will feature other superior specifications like a 16 GB / 32 GB storage capacity, 4 GB of RAM, a 16 megapixel rear camera, an 8 megapixel front camera, a 5.2 inch display (1080 × 1920 pixel resolution), a USB type-C port and a Xiaomi Mi 5 fingerprint sensor.
