HTC One M9 and One M8 are set to receive the announced Android M Marshmallow by the end of the year.
In a tweet, HTC USA confirmed that it is working on the Android 6.0 and will begin its roll out by the end of the year. This suggested that HTC handset in the United States will start receiving the latest flavor of Android OS soon.
The specific devices to get the latest OS are unspecified, but reports claimed that HTC's flagship line One M9 and One M8 will surely receive the OS. Although the Taiwanese mobile manufacturer has not confirmed yet, HTC One E9+, One E9, One ME, One E8, One M8 Eye, Desire 826, Desire 820, Desire 816, and Butterfly 3 are also set to be updated to Google latest software.
Tech giant Google announced the developer preview of Android Marshmallow earlier this year and the official version arrived on Sept. 29 alongside the announcement of Nexus 5X and 6P. The new version of Android Marshmallow boasts support to hardware features such as USB Type-C connection and fingerprint sensor. It also packs new features like Android Pay and Google Now on Tap.
According to PC Advisor, Google will start rolling out the Android M to Nexus devices on Oct. 5. Nexus 5, 6, 7 (2013), 9 and Player are rumored to be the first in line to get the Android Marshmallow followed by Google Play Edition smartphones.
Android-based smartphones will receive the latest OS once they receive the software from Google and customized it with their bloatware. HTC smartphones will include Sense UI on top of the operating system.
