Google finally unveiled the Android M Marshmallow alongside the Nexus 5X and 6P handsets.
The new version of the operating system delivers new software features to Android-based devices such as Android Pay, fingerprint support, and improved Google Now.
It is a no-brainer that the new Android 6.0 Marshmallow will be delivered to different Nexus devices first such as Nexus 9 and Nexus 7 (2013) tablets as well as Nexus 6 and Nexus 5 smartphones. There were reports saying that Nexus 7 (2012) and Nexus 4 will no longer receive the latest Android OS.
Following the roll out of Android Marshmallow is the release of the operating system to Google Play Edition devices. GPE devices from various manufacturers run with Pure Android OS.
Being Google's most-trusted partner, LG Electronics may have the advantage of rolling out the latest OS to its devices.
Meanwhile, Motorola announced that it will roll out the Android Marshmallow OS to a wide array of Moto devices starting in December. Older Moto devices will get the update early next year in January or February. Also, being a former subsidiary of Google, it rolls out the Android OS to its devices earlier than other Android-based manufacturers.
Based from previous track record, HTC and Sony are some of the early adopters of Android OS. On the other hand, Samsung trails behind the pack as it often delays the release of the customized Android OS to its devices. There are times that Google already rolled out a new version, but Samsung is still stuck with previous versions.
However, nothing is final until the companies confirmed the official roll out of Android OS to its respective devices.
