Ian Somerhalder's Damon Salvatore is once again featured topless in another new season 7 trailer of "The Vampire Diaries," leading fans to dream and speculate again.
Somerhalder, 36, posted the trailer on one of his social media pages on Tuesday, September 29, and cheekily captioned it "why is Damon naked in this new Vampire Diaries Trailer...?"
According to Entertainment Weekly, the scene actually just shows Damon and Alaric (Matthew Davis) horsing about with Damon throwing his wet towel at his friend after a shower. Aside from the two vampire friends playing around, other relationship advances are also teased on the trailer.
There is a peek at some bonding between Bonnie (Kat Graham) and Caroline (Candice Accola), a bit of kissing between Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Caroline and Damon awaking in a coffin - all of which serve to stir up the curiosity of fans worldwide.
Meanwhile, season 7 is set to be a bittersweet one as the show creator Julie Plec admitted this in July, at a panel at San Diego's Comic-Con, due to Nina Dobrev's absence from the line-up, US Weekly reported.
Fans of Dobrev's Elena Gilbert can take heart, however, since she is not actually dead, but sleeping in her coffin for 60 or 70 years, or at least until her supernatural link to Bonnie is severed when Bonnie dies.
At the panel, Graham shared about Gilbert's undead state:
"I thought it was a really clever way to keep Elena there and keep her presence there and keep the door open in a lot of ways for her to come back. But it also created an interesting dynamic going into Season 7 for Bonnie and Damon and them to have to deal with the fact that Bonnie's alive and Elena's not."
