"CSI" actress Melanie Liburd is the latest artist to join the cast of HBO's hit series "Game Of Thrones" for its upcoming season 6.
The British actress is likely to join the cast as the Red Priestess, Deadline reported. The fictional drama already has one Red Woman or Red Priestess, the character of which is played by Carice Van Houten in several recurring seasons.
Rumors are rife that Van Houten's character is likely to play the catalyst in bringing back the famous character of Jon Snow, who was seemingly killed in the finale episode of "Game Of Thrones" season 5. However, Liburd will not take over Van Houten's role and is expected to play a separate yet similar character of Red Priestess.
Meanwhile, Liburd took to Instagram to confirm that she is set to play an important role in "Game Of Thrones" season 6.
"Flying back to London then on to Spain to film Game Of Thrones," wrote the actress to caption the pic.
Back in May, it was reported that the show's producers are looking for an actress to play a beautiful and magnetic priestess named Kinvara. Latest pics from the sets in Spain show Liburd standing on a podium and addressing a crowd of people which indicate that the actress is filming a scene as Kinvara the red priestess, Spanish site Los Siete Reinos reported .
Liburd's Kinvara is the latest addition to the slew of characters who are set to appear in the upcoming season. One of the most highly anticipated among them is "unREAL" star Freddie Stroma who will play the role of Samwell's younger and fitter brother along with "Bridget Jones' Diary" actor James Faulkner, who will play the role of Samwell's father who was always a bit biased towards his younger son.
