The Collector is going to be back in James Gunn's upcoming Marvel Comics film "Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2."
"Sicario" actor Benicio del played The Collector in Gunn's "Guardians of the Galaxy." Recently, Zoe Saldana, who plays the assassin Gamora in Gunn's film, shared a video of her with her husband Marco Saldana on Facebook.
According to Cinema Blend, the "Guardians of the Galaxy" actress was praising "Sicario" and del Toro's performance in the film. She said at the end, "I'll see you on Guardians." This entails that fans are going to see del Toro as The Collector in Gunn's upcoming film sequel.
Not all the stars of Gunn's forthcoming "Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2" has read the script, according to Latino Review. It is possible that the script has not been finalized at this point, as Gunn has recently revealed that he had got the permission from Marvel's legal department to use the name "Sneepers" in the story.
According to Cinema Blend, del Toro's casting as The Collector was in usual Marvel approach, which means becoming attached to several films. However, some fans speculated that he would play the role of Thanos, the supreme villain of Marvel's Cinematic Universe. At this point, it is assumed that The Collector would want the Infinity Stones for his collections, so seeing him in future Marvel films would be likely.
Aside from Zoe and del Toro, "Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2" also stars Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper (voice), Vin Diesel (voice), Sean Gunn, Karen Gillan, Michael Rooker, and possibly Howard the Duck, among others.
"Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2" is slated to premiere in theaters in United States on May 5, 2017.
