Five days of heavy rains occurred in the southern part of China leaving the residents there to face the losses the rainstorm left behind. Such natural disaster killed 26 people and three currently missing. Indeed the residents of these affected provinces are caught off guard with the non-stop rainstorm as it generates direct losses economically of up to US$650 million or 4 billion in Yuan according to a reliable source.
After the said 5 day rainstorm, 337,000 people have left their places and find a safer refuge for their safety as well as of their respective families while 115,000 residents are in great need of help for relief supplies like food, clothing and medicines.
In the province of Hunan, 11 are killed during the incident and two are still missing according to the ministry. Of the nine provinces that experienced this five day heavy rainstorms, five provinces have casualties in which among them are Fujian and also Jiangxi.
In summary to the disastrous results of the non-stop five day rainstorm, there were floods and landslides, houses are either damaged or totally toppled, and about 42,000 hectares of livelihoods cannot be used anymore.
Indeed natural calamities are the worst enemies as there is nothing we can do but be ready for them so that after they will do their thing, we will be left standing. It is for the same reason that those people in the weather department are trying their best to warn the residents involved as early as possible if a potential natural calamity is about to occur to give them more time to prepare and evacuate if needed depending on the extent of the reported calamity.
