A new book from Gallery Books, for release on Oct. 20, claims that actors Mickey Rooney and Elizabeth Taylor were caught by the second wife of Mickey in 1946 having sex. When Betty Jane opened the door to their dressing room, 14-year-old Elizabeth was allegedly down on her knees and performing oral sex on Mickey who was in his 20s.
The New York Post reports that the source of that story was Pam McClenathan, a friend and caregiver of Betty Jane who came with their son Mickey Jr. and was pregnant with second son Timmy. Betty Jane got a good lawyer and big settlement but was unhappy with the marriage because Mickey, who had six marriages later, was unfaithful.
The book, "The Life And Times Of Mickey Rooney," recalls Elizabeth was 12 when she met Mickey at the set of "National Velvet" in 1944 which made her a star. It recalled his sexual conquests of actresses such as Lana Turner and Judy Garland.
The agreement specified that Betty Jane - a backup singer of Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra and Sam Cooke - would receive $15,000 a year for 15 years and $12,000 as medical and legal cost. Mickey paid $25,000 more when Betty Jane rescinded the agreement after her lawyer discovered that the actor hid from her his real income and assets.
Mickey, whose film credits such as "Babes in Arms" and "Breakfast at Tiffany" were box-office hits, was the most successful and highest-paid actor in the early 1940s, reports Daily Mail.
The couple divorced in 1949 and Betty Jane remarried Buddy Baker, a composer, eight days after the separation became official.
The diminutive Mickey, who stood at 5' 2", died in 2014 at 93. His other wives include Ava Gardner, Martha Vickers and Marge Lane. He said his marriage to Betty Jane did not last because they were incompatible. But a representative for the actor said he is unaware of the fellatio incident.
Elizabeth was married seven times.
