The greatest rivalry in college basketball never stops even in the offseason-even with their jerseys.
The University of North Carolina Tar Heels are known for their iconic light blue jerseys, also called "Carolina Blue," popularized by Michael Jordan himself.
This season, the Heels will debut a much darker shade as Sports Illustrated revealed.
"The North Carolina Tar Heels will wear black uniforms for the first time in program history when they take on UCLA on Dec. 19. The two storied teams are set to meet at the CBS Sports Classic at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y.
UNC unveiled the new look, which features its traditional light-blue and white colors on the piping and side panels, on Instagram Friday."

There is also a Twitter post where Marcus Paige, a Tar Heel senior models the uniform and shows it off to his teammates. Their excitement overflows as they know they would be the first to show off the new gear.

The social media announcements came two days after Duke also posted their black uniforms on Instagram, featuring incoming freshman Brandon Ingram.
The Blue Devils lost the core of their championship team to the NBA but they have the no.2 recruiting class to replenish their talent. In contrast, North Carolina will rely on holdovers Marcus Paige, Brice Johnson, Kennedy Meeks and Justin Jackson.
