Filipina actress Maine Mendoza, alongside Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Ellen Degeneres and Jimmy Fallon, has the fastest-growing celebrity profile on Twitter worldwide for September.
According to Socialbakers, Swift gained the most number of followers last month with 1.31 million, followed by Perry, DeGeneres and Fallon with 1.26 million, 1.091 million and 1.046 million, respectively. Surprisingly, "Kalyeserye" actress Mendoza earned 1.016 million followers earning her the top spot of the fastest growing celebrity Twitter profiles in the Philippines.
According to the site, Perry still has the most number of followers with over 76.5 million followers. The "Roar" singer is followed by Bieber and Swift with 68.38 million and 64.7 million followers, respectively.
In other news, Degeneres' Oscar selfie with Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Lawrence, Julia Roberts, Brad Pitt, Meryl Streep, Kevin Spacey and Lupita Nyong' O is still the most retweeted tweet with over 3.33 million tweets and 2.07 favorites.
In 30 minutes, the photo had almost 800,000 retweets to the surprise of Degeneres herself. She later thanked her fans for helping her set a new record. She added that they were all considered winners for making this happen.
The record was previously held by US president Barack Obama's tweet, "Four more years," which he posted when he was re-elected back in November 2012.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the photo was worth over $800 million to $ 1 billion. Early this year, it was held that the post was seen by more than 37 million people worldwide and counting.
