The song was originally intended for promoting a film, but later on became famous for its catchy tune.

"This song is easy to follow, the pace is basic and repetitive. Even the old ladies in public gardens are learning it quickly," said marketing manager Zeng Qiumei from Sichuan Province.

The song's music video has already garnered over 50 million views on China's top video portals such as iQiyi, Sohu Videos and Youku.

The music video features a failed plastic surgery operation and shows the Chopstick Brothers through a series of scenarios.

Even with the repetitive and nonsensical lyrics of the song, it became a nationwide hit and has caught the attention of the People's Liberation Army based in Xian City who used the popular song in making a video for recruitment.

Meanwhile, the police force of Shandong City have also used the song by modifying its lyrics for a public service announcement about rampant mobile-banking frauds.

Aside from the police and the army, there are also a myriad of other videos online that used the song. Even firefighters and flight attendants are joining the "Little Apple" fever.

Recognizing the popularity of the song, a group of elderly females called "Da Ma" who dances in various city squares every morning and night, has also shared some moments under the spotlight with the craze song.
