UFC Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey actually got some fighting genes from her mom, Anna Maria De Mars, who is also a world judo champion.
Thus, it is obvious that when De Mars criticizes her esteemed daughter's coach, she know what she's talking about. Fox Sports has her strong comments from her interview with ProMMA Now.
"If you read in Ronda's book, you know when she walked into his gym she had been a Junior World gold medalist, Olympic medalist, World medalist in judo and [Tarverdyan] didn't give her the time of day," De Mars accused. "And he has had that exact same pattern with many women in the gym and I have seen it with my own eyes, where they train there and it's basically a waste of their time. And they're talked to in a way that just makes my jaw drop."
These comments were explanations in light of her comments in a previous interview where she first stated her hatred towards Tarverdran. She already disapproved of him but she had to back down a bit because Ronda needs to concentrate.
"Ronda and I] talked about it before and she said, 'Oh, I've got a fight coming up.' You only get that pass from me once. Whatever she wants to do in her career, that's her business, but if you're in a situation where you're really causing harm to other people by being used as bait to lure people in there, I think somebody needs to speak up," De Mars concluded. "And all I did was say publicly what people have been whispering for years, but no one had the balls to speak up because Edmond is like that gatekeeper to Ronda."
Will Rousey follow her mom's advice? It should be recalled that Rousey is very protective of her family when she publicly dissed Justin Bieber in Cosmopolitan for being rude to her sister, so it's assumed that if push came to shove, she would choose family.
Considering her mom's accusations and Rousey's current state that she's practically unbeatable, she can probably afford to drop Tarverdran.
