Best known for creating "One Piece," manga artist Eiichiro Oda currently lives a busy life. It was recently revealed that the number of hours he sleeps daily is not the same as that of most people.
Apparently, Oda sleeps only three hours a day. The "One Piece" creator revealed that he regularly sleeps at 2am and wakes up at 5am in an interview with a magazine article, as cited by 2ch.
During the interview, Oda talked about his weekly schedule. The manga artist works on the story and the dialogue of the manga Mondays to Wednesdays. He only uses very rough sketches to work out the flow of the manga.
With the help of his assistants, Oda works on the actual drawing of the manga Thursdays to Saturdays. They then do the color work Sundays.
With such a strict schedule, it is not surprising that Oda is considered one of the influential artists who changed the history of manga. Born in Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan on Jan. 1, 1975, the manga artist considers "Dragon Ball" series creator Akira Toriyama as one of his biggest influences.
In other news, a Japanese man, 45, was arrested on Oct. 19, Monday, by Gifu Prefectural Police on suspicion of copyright infringement for sharing the "One Piece" episodes online. The suspect was a male office worker from Hashimoto-city, Wakayama Prefecture, according to Sanskei Sports.
The man admitted to sharing "One Piece" episodes onto the internet from his PC without the permission of Toei Animation, the owner of the copyright of "One Piece" animated series. He said he thought he would never get caught since many others are doing the same thing.
