Barnes & Noble introduces an updated flagship GlowLight e-reader with the GlowLight Plus, the company's first waterproof e-reader.
Nook GlowLight Plus is slickest e-reader the company has ever produced. Because it is waterproof, users can read in the pool or in the bathtub, without worrying about destroying it. The new waterproofing feature allows the device to be submerged in up to three feet of water for up to 30 minutes, Mashable reported, and it is also a dustproof device.
The chassis features a premium treatment made out of aluminium. The screen is protected by fingerprint and scratch resistant polymer, which has been coated against glare.
Its 6.4-inch screen has a built-in backlighting system for reading in the dark and has a 300 dpi resolution that renders text sharper and with better contrast. The GlowLight Plus weighs 6.9 ounces, which is enough to fit into inner jacket pocket and not bulge out.
The waterproof e-reader has a .6 GB of internal storage for all the digital books. It features Barnes & Noble Readouts, a section where users can quickly check the books that can be read in less than two minutes. The book previews that show up seem to be customized according to the user’s preferences.
In terms of swiping between pages, it is considerably quick. In addition, Nook GlowLight Plus’ battery life can last up to six weeks on a single charge.
Nook GlowLight Plus can be purchased at Barnes & Noble website and other company's remaining physical book stores. It has a price tag of $129.99, and Barnes & Noble members get 10 percent discount, according to GSM Arena.
