Dubbed as the Pop Queen of Taiwan, Jolin Tsai is finally releasing a new album after two years, China.org.cn reported.
For her 13th studio album titled "Play," Tsai went to New York to shoot the album cover and photobook for five days.
While in New York, Tsai teamed up with the American designing team called The Blonds who have worked with Twitter's most followed person Katy Perry and "Drunk in Love" hit maker Beyoncé Knowles.
The Blonds helped Tsai make "Play" a colorful and playful album, which the singer wanted to show her fans.
According to Tsai, the title of her new album may refer to film script, acting or performance, which helped her gain wisdom and experiences during the past two years when she had a break from her music career.
Warner Music Taiwan reportedly spent 60 million NTD ($1.97 million) on Tsai's upcoming music video post-production.
Each track on "Play," which will be released on Nov. 17, will be accompanied by a music video, according to 24-7 Kpop.
Tsai's 12th studio album titled "Muse" was released on Sept. 12, 2012.
Warner Music Taiwan released "Muse" in four editions. Both the "Muse of Love" and "Muse of Dream" editions feature a photobook, with the former shot in Hong Kong and the latter in Paris. The deluxe edition "Muse in Live" features two versions, one with Tsai's live concert footage and another with five music videos.
"Play" will be Tsai's fourth album released under Warner Music Taiwan.
The first one was titled "Butterfly," which was released on March 27, 2009. The album also marked Tsai's first experience with electronic music.
After the success of "Butterfly," Tsai released her 11th studio album titled "Myself" under the same label on Aug. 3, 2010, which was followed by "Muse" two years later.
Tsai's "The Great Artist" was the first Mandarin pop song to win Best Song of the Year in the Golden Melody Awards.
