"Angry Birds Seasons" will soon be made available to Android users in mainland China.
International mobile internet service provider NQ Mobile Inc. announced Tuesday that their gaming subsidiary FL Mobile was officially selected by Angry Birds creator Rovio Entertainment to exclusively release the Android version of the game.
"Angry Birds Seasons" iOS counterpart topped as the most downloaded game in the puzzle category on App Store, proving its popularity in the country.
The said Angry Birds special edition features the same furious fowls, but this time turning their rage to certain holidays and celebrations like Valentine's Day, Halloween, Christmas, among others. There are 300 levels to complete and regular updates to keep players engaged.
FL Mobile CEO Tony Ni said that Angry Birds is far more than just a game franchise because it was an app loved and has been rated highly by smartphone and OS-device users.
He added that after Rovio enthrusted their company to publish "Seasons," FL Mobile has become one of the top game publishers in China.
FL Mobile has been working with third-party developers such as Baidu, Tencent, Perfect World, HardCore, Muhe Network, Red Infinity, 37 Interactive, and Tianjin Pictographic over the years. Rovio was the latest addition to the list.
One of the biggest game publishers in China, FL Mobile registered over 106.9 million users and 20.4 million monthly active users in 2013.
