Matt Reeves' forthcoming "War of the Planet of the Apes" is set to bring back a pivotal character in "Ant-Man" actress Judy Greer.
Greer played the role of Cornelia, Caesar's mate, in Reeves' 2014 film "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes." According to The Hollywood Reporter, Greer is set to reprise her role in the upcoming film sequel. The publication added that the "Ant-Man" actress would join "Alone in the Dark" actress Karin Konoval, who will play the role of the character named Maurice.
According to Cinema Blend, the return of Greer and Konoval in the film sequel would preserve the status quo in the Apes' lives. In addition, the publication added that Greer's role could be more substantial in the sequel that it had been assumed that the actress would have greater screen time, as compared to the upcoming film's predecessors.
Aside from "War of the Planet of the Apes," Greer is also set to be part of Lee Kirk's musical drama "Geezer," Craig Johnson's comedy "Wilson," Jim Loach's comedy drama "Measure of a Man," and Katie Holmes' drama "All We Had."
Meanwhile, "War of the Planet of the Apes" centers on the Apes' initiation of war against humans, who will "not forgive." Fans will also see Ceasar become a "Moses figure" in the Ape history. It is assumed that the film will see the Apes attain the peace that they desire on a "promised land" following the war with humans.
Aside from Greer and Konoval, "War of the Planet of the Apes" also stars James Pizziniato, Mercedes de la Zerda, Gabriel Chavarria, Terry Notary, Amiah Miller, Max Lloyd-Jones, Steve Zahn, Woody Harrelson, and Andy Serkis as Caesar.
Reeves' "War of the Planet of the Apes" is slated to premiere in theaters in the United States on July 14, 2017.
