New details for "Tekken 7" have been revealed regarding a new game trailer, VR support gameplay and five characters added to the roster.
Bandai Namco revealed new details for "Tekken 7" during the Paris Games Week event as game creator Katsuhiro Harada explained several new features that they intend to add in the latest sequel. According to Harada, "Tekken 7" will be heading to the PlayStation 4 console and along with it are special features that are not added in the arcade version of the game, Gamerant reported.
Harada added that "Tekken 7" will also support virtual reality gameplay for the first time in the game franchise's history. When it comes to the game's official launch date, Harada did not press further and did not state any release date announcement, but instead presented a new trailer for "Tekken 7".
The game trailer features past Tekken games from the very first title in 1995 to "Tekken 6" in 2009 as it marks the 20th celebration of the beloved fighting game series, HardcoreGamer reported. The trailer also featured a brief history of the Mishima clan and curse of the devil gene that has plagued their family in the game's history.
"Tekken 7" will also feature the end of the feud between Kazuya and Heihachi as it all started when Heihachi threw his son to cliff as child and devil gene somehow awakened within Kazuya. Little did anyone knew Heihachi's wife, Kazumi also possessed the devil gene and it is hinted that Kazuya inherited the power from her mother.
The main focus of "Tekken 7" storyline was always been the Mishima family feud originating from father to son and eventually branch out to other characters that are involved with them. Bandai Namco has been busy promoting and developing "Tekken 7" as they have gathered new data from arcade test across the globe in other to come up with new ideas and features for the consoles.
The game's roster includes Jin, Kazuya, Heihachi, Xiaoyu, Asuka, Lili, Hwoarang, Steve Fox, Paul Phoenix, Marshall Law, Dragunov, Bryan Fury, Yoshimitsu, King, Lars Alexandersson, Alisa, Leo, Feng Wei and Devil Jin. New faces are also introduced in the series such as Josie Rizal, Claudio Serafino, Lucky Chloe, Jack-7, Gigas, Shaheen, Katarina Alves and Kazumi Mishima.
Past Tekken characters such as Nina, Anna, Kuma, Kunimitsu, Angel, Jun Kazama and Eliza are being rumored to join the roster, but Harada has been silent about it and offered no comments regarding the roster.
"Tekken 7" has been speculated to have a 2016 launch date for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles.
