A touring exhibition celebrating the life and art of Dutch post-impressionist Vincent Van Gogh will stop in Shanghai next year, according to its organizers.
Titled "Van Gogh Alive," the exhibit will be housed in a planned "Art Castle" in Tiping Lake in the Xintiandi area of Shanghai from April 28 to Aug. 30, 2015, according to Australia's Grande Exhibitions.
The four-month-long Van Gogh art fair, which will happen at the same time as the Shanghai International Arts Festival, will feature more than 3,000 images depicting his life and work, said a China.org report.
The multimedia presentation will show photos of the artist's posthumously renowned paintings like "Still Life: Vase with Fifteen Sunflowers," "The Cafe Terrace at Night," and the famous "The Starry Night."
Music composed during Van Gogh's lifetime will also be played as the exhibit runs, according to organizers.
The Shanghai leg of the traveling exhibit, as in the others ones, guarantees that it will "immerse visitors in the artist's world."
Van Gogh was born in Zundert, Netherlands, on March 30, 1853, and died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound in Auvers-sur-Oise, France, on July 29, 1890, at age 37.
He created over 2,100 artworks, which became famous and renowned only after his death.
