The Chopstick Brothers, China's own viral Internet singing sensation, recently got their hit song "Little Apple" released on Apple's popular music platform iTunes. They are the first Chinese musical duo to be featured on the online music outlet, according to Chinese video hosting site Youku. The duo also won an award during the American Music Awards.

It is also the first time that a "god" song from China was performed on an international stage. The Chopstick Brothers performed its hit song during the 42nd American Music Awards held in Los Angeles, California, on Nov. 23, 2014. The Chinese duo also won the International Song Award for their online hit "Little Apple."

However, according to a verified commentator on Weibo, a Chinese micro-blogging website, the Chinese musical duo performed without an audience present and was only recorded during a commercial break.

The organizers of the AMA said that the award given to the Chopstick Brothers was still a genuine one.

"There are many awards given off camera and these were no different," said AMA spokesperson Liz Morentin.

No comments or details were given by the Chopstick Brothers about the issue.

The "Little Apple" hit song went viral in China since its release on May 29. The song was played 579 million times, while the music video was watched 823 million times. Globally, the song was played by at least 500 million listeners, according to Southern.com.

It also spawned more than 280,000 covers, which generated more than 900 million views on Youku.

Songwriter Wang Taili and director Xiao Yang comprise the popular Chopstick Brothers.
